Oktoberfest

Fort Rucker's 17th Annual Oktoberfest, held at The Landing and Howze Field on September 27 from 4:30 - 9:30 p.m. on Fort Rucker, features live German music by Sonnenschein Express, traditional German food including bratwurst and schnitzel, German beer, and a good time to be had! At this family-friendly event there are inflatables for the children, craft activities and more! So put on your lederhosen and don't miss out on this celebration of German culture here in the Wiregrass! 2 KM Volksmarch

Where: The Landing (Start line at Shamrock Rd & Novosel St)

Start Time: 1630

Registration: Free Registration is available at Fort Rucker PFC from 09 September until 26 September 2019. Registration available on site until 1600. 

Swag: Participants will receive beads and a hat while on the walk and learn fun facts about Germany. Malt beverage samples along the route for those that are 21+ (ID must be presented to receive sample). First 50 registered will receive a 2019 Oktoberfest commemorative t-shirts (medium and large sizes only).  

Beir Stein Holding Contest, Plank Stein Challenge & Keg Throw

Where: The Landing (Back deck) 

Start Time: 1745-2030

Registration: No registration needed.

Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to the top record holders in each event.

Cornhole Tournament

Where: The Landing (Back deck) 

Start Time: Warm-up kicks off at 1630, tournament at 1730.

Registration: Free pre-registration is available at Fort Rucker PFC from 09 September until 26 September 2019. Registration available on site until 1715.

Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to the first place and second place teams.  

Tournament Play: Play is single elimination with teams playing to 21. Woody = 1 point (any cornhole bag that has been pitched and remains on the cornhole board playing surface at the conclusion of the frame). Cornhole = 3 points (any cornhole bag that has been pitched and passes through the cornhole board hole). A bag that comes to rest touching the ground AND the board does not count as a point.   

Scoring: In cancellation scoring, the points of one player cancel out the points of their opponent.
