- Accessing the Installation

Visitors to Fort Novosel require a Department of Defense-issued (DoD issued) Identification (ID) (i.e. common access card (CAC), military ID, military family member ID, or other DoD-issued ID).
Visitors to Fort Novosel are considered to be anyone not possessing a DoD issued ID card. (Military ID, Military Family Member ID, Common Access Card CAC, or other DoD issued ID)
- Obtaining a Vistor Pass

Visitors can obtain pass at the Visitor Control Centers at Ozark and Daleville Gates; Monday – Friday from 8am – 4pm and Daleville Visitor Control Center is also open Saturday and Sunday from 8am- 4pm. When accessing Fort Novosel, visitors must present a Visitor Badge and a valid Government-issued picture identification card in order to access Fort Novosel.

SPONSORED PASSES
Sponsored Passes are passes that are issued for 1 year. These passes are available to MWR Sponsors that routinely visit Fort Novosel to participate in Events. Sponsored passes are also available to patrons that sign up for Silver Wings Golf Course memberships, Flight Line Bowling Leagues, and other groups. Be sure to ask the front desk at the facility you are visiting if you are eligible for a year Sponsored Pass! (NCIC-III check is still required)
REQUIREMENTS FOR VISITOR PASS
All unescorted visitors 18 and older operating a vehicle, will need a visitor’s pass. A background check is required to obtain a visitor’s pass to the installation for those ages 18 and older wanting unescorted access. Along with the pass, all persons ages 18 and older must present a valid picture identification card for access to the installation. Valid picture identification includes government-issued identification such as a driver’s license, state identification, DD Form 1173 (Uniformed Services Identification and Privilege Card), DD Form 2 series or a passport issued by an authoritative agency (state/federal). Personnel under the age of 18 will not have a NCIC-III check conducted and may enter the installation when escorted by a valid pass holder.
Please allow for wait and processing time at the visitor center. Background check typically takes approximately 15 minutes. Visitor Badge is valid for 6 months.

Authorized Patronage of Fort Novosel
Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Activities
Active duty and retired military personnel, Active Duty Coast Guard and their Family Members with valid ID cards are authorized use of all MWR facilities on a priority basis, in accordance with individual facility age requirements. The following MWR patronage policy for DoD Appropriated Fund (APF), Nonappropriated Fund (NAF) and Coast Guard civilians, Reserve Components, contract civilians, and their Family Members (who meet individual facility age requirements) and their guests is established at Fort Novosel, Alabama. Participation in, or spectators at, music and theater productions, sporting events, special events and other activities open to the local community to foster public relations, when their participation is an enhancement, are authorized. Patronage privileges will be suspended, terminated, or denied if the installation commander or his delegate determines it to be in the best interest of the activity, program, installation or Army.

Bingo: All participants must be over the age of 18 to purchase cards or claim prizes. All members of the United States Reserve Components and their Family Members with a valid ID card are authorized. Currently employed and retired APF, NAF, and DoD and Coast Guard civilians are authorized. DoD contract employees working full time on the installation are authorized. Bona fide guests of authorized patrons. Bingo callers or monitors, Family & MWR managers, the DFMWR, direct line supervisors, other employees of the sponsoring activity, and their immediate Family Members may not play. Employees assigned to one or more MWR activity (ies) may participate in bingo sponsored by an unrelated activity if they are otherwise eligible. Former Prisoners of War (POWs), and spouses of current POWs or Service members missing in action (MIA) and their Family Members are authorized. Non-DoD Federal employees working on the installation are authorized. Community area residents with no military affiliation may participate in FB&E activities. Participation will be IAW FB&E operational procedures for nonmilitary patrons, and on a space availability basis.
Bowling Center: All members of the United States Reserve Components and their Family Members with a valid ID card are authorized. Currently employed and retired APF, NAF, and DoD and Coast Guard civilians are authorized. DoD contract employees working full time on the installation are authorized. Community area residents with no military affiliation may participate in bowling activities. Participation will be IAW bowling operational procedures for nonmilitary patrons, and on a space availability basis. Former Prisoners of War (POWs), and spouses of current POWs or Service members missing in action (MIA) and their Family Members are authorized. Non-DoD Federal employees working on the installation are authorized.
Child & Youth Services (CYS): Authorized Patrons include: All members of the United States Reserve Components and their Family Members with a valid ID card; currently employed and retired APF, NAF, and DoD and Coast Guard civilians; DoD contract employees working full time on the installation; former Prisoners of War (POWs), and spouses of current POWs or Service members missing in action (MIA) and their Family Members; non-DoD Federal employees working on the installation.
Food, Beverage and Entertainment (FB&E): Authorized Patrons include: All members of the United States Reserve Components and their Family Members with a valid ID card are authorized. Currently employed and retired APF, NAF, and DoD and Coast Guard civilians are authorized. DoD contract employees working full time on the installation are authorized. Community area residents with no military affiliation may participate in FB&E activities. Participation will be IAW FB&E operational procedures for nonmilitary patrons, and on a space availability basis. Former Prisoners of War (POWs), and spouses of current POWs or Service members missing in action (MIA) and their Family Members are authorized. Non-DoD Federal employees working on the installation are authorized.
Golf Course: All members of the United States Reserve Components and their Family Members with a valid ID card are authorized. Currently employed and retired APF, NAF, and DoD and Coast Guard civilians are authorized.
DoD contract employees working full time on the installation are authorized. Community area residents with no military affiliation may participate in Golf Course activities. Participation will be IAW Silver Wings Golf Course operational procedures for nonmilitary patrons, and on a space availability basis. Former Prisoners of War (POWs), and spouses of current POWs or Service members missing in action (MIA) and their Family Members are authorized. Non-DoD Federal employees working on the installation are authorized.
Intramural Sports Program: Authorized Patrons include: All members of the United States Reserve Components and their Family members with a valid ID card, who meet age restrictions; currently employed and retired APF, NAF, and DoD and Coast Guard civilians and eligible Family Members residing in the sponsor’s household, as outlined in Memorandum of Instruction for each sport, may take part in military intramural sports programs; Family Members of active duty military personnel, with a valid ID card, may participate in intramural sports programs when age requirements are met and specific intramural sports leagues will allow participation; contract civilians are authorized to participate in accordance with the Memorandum of Instruction (MOI) for each intramural program; spectators at sporting events and invited community civilian teams are authorized to observe and participate in scheduled tournaments and sport events; former Prisoners of War (POWs), and spouses of current POWs or Service members missing in action (MIA) and their Family Members are authorized; non-DoD Federal employees working on the installation are authorized to participate in accordance with the Memorandum of Instruction (MOI) for each intramural program. Civilian personnel and Family Members may not participate with military personnel in individual sports or contact sports (boxing, wrestling, team handball, and football).
Lake Tholocco Lodging: All members of the United States Reserve Components and their Family Members with a valid ID card are authorized. Currently employed and retired APF, NAF, and retired DoD and Coast Guard civilians are authorized. DoD contract employees working full time on the installation are authorized. Former Prisoners of War (POWs), and spouses of current POWs or Service members missing in action (MIA) and their Family Members are authorized. Non-DoD Federal employees working on the installation are authorized. Guests when accompanied by an authorized patron.
Library: Authorized Patrons include: All members of the United States Reserve Components and their Family Members with a valid ID card; currently employed and retired APF, NAF, and DoD and Coast Guard civilians; DoD contractor employees working full time on the installation; non-DoD Federal employees working on the installation; guests, when accompanied by authorized patrons, are authorized in-house use of materials; former Prisoners of War (POWs), and spouses of current POWs or Service members missing in action (MIA) and their Family Members are authorized.
MWR Central (Leisure Travel Services): Authorized Patrons include: All members of the United States Reserve Components and their Family Members with a valid ID card; currently employed and retired APF, NAF, and DoD and Coast Guard civilians; DoD contract employees working full time on the installation; guests when accompanied by authorized patrons; former Prisoners of War (POWs), and spouses of current POWs or Service members missing in action (MIA) and their Family Members; and Non-DoD Federal employees working on the installation.
Outdoor Recreation: Authorized Patrons include: All members of the United States Reserve Components and their Family Members with a valid ID card; currently employed and retired APF, NAF, and retired DoD and Coast Guard civilians; DoD contract employees working full time on the installation; guests when accompanied by authorized patrons; former Prisoners of War (POWs), and spouses of current POWs or Service members missing in action (MIA) and their Family Members; non-DoD Federal employees working on the installation. Fort Novosel Lake Tholocco areas and facilities will remain open to members of the public.
Physical Fitness Centers: Authorized Patrons include: All Active Duty Military and their family members with a valid ID card. All members of the United States Reserve Components and their Family Members with a valid ID card are authorized. Currently employed and retired APF, NAF and DoD and Coast Guard civilians and Family members residing in the sponsor’s household are authorized. DoD contract employees working full time on the installation are authorized, except during PT hours (0500-0715 Mon-Fri), on a space available basis. Former Prisoners of War (POW’s), and spouses of current POWs or service members missing in action (MIA) and their Family Members are authorized. Non-DoD Federal employees working on the installation are authorized. Guest Policy: Active Duty/Retired military and their Family members only may sponsor guests at the facility. Guests must be accompanied by the sponsor.
Riding Stables: All members of the United States Reserve Components and their Family Members with a valid ID card are authorized. Currently employed and retired APF, NAF, and DoD and Coast Guard civilians are authorized DoD contract employees working full time on the installation are authorized. Community area residents with no military affiliation may participate in Riding Stables activities. Participation will be IAW Equestrian Center operational procedures for nonmilitary patrons, and on a space availability basis. Former Prisoners of War (POWs), and spouses of current POWs or Service members missing in action (MIA) and their Family Members are authorized. Non-DoD Federal employees working on the installation are authorized.
Skill Development Activities (Auto, Arts & Crafts): Authorized Patrons include: All members of the United States Reserve Components and their Family Members with a valid ID card; Currently employed and retired APF, NAF, and DoD and Coast Guard civilians; DoD contract employees working full time on the installation; guests when accompanied by authorized patrons, any; any guests must stay with authorized patron throughout visit; former Prisoners of War (POWs), and spouses of current POWs or Service members missing in action (MIA) and their Family Members; and non-DoD Federal employees working on the installation.
